Areas we cover — tree surgeons across Bristol
Bristol Tree Fellas cover the whole city and the towns around it, roughly within a 25-mile radius of the centre. Below is where most of our work is — 30 areas in all. If you are just outside the list, call and ask.
Bristol and the surrounding towns
The trees are not the same across all of it, and neither is the way we price them. A steep terraced garden in Totterdown with no rear access is a completely different job from a detached plot in Bradley Stoke you can reverse a chipper onto, even if the tree is identical.

Why your address changes the price of the job
Two identical trees in different parts of Bristol can carry very different prices, and it is almost never about the tree. It is about how the wood gets out, and whether the council has to be asked first.
A mature sycamore in a Totterdown back garden has to come down in small pieces and be carried up a flight of steps and through the house, because there is no other route. The same tree in Brislington might have a driveway you can back a chipper down. In Clifton, Cotham or Redland there is a further step before any of that: the tree is very likely in a conservation area, so the council needs six weeks' notice, and it may carry a Tree Preservation Order on top.
Knowing all that before quoting is the difference between a price that holds and a price that grows halfway through the job. It is also why we come and look rather than pricing a tree from a description over the phone.
Questions about where we work
Travel, villages that are not on the list, access in the terraced streets, and work for landlords and commercial sites.
Which areas of Bristol do you cover?
All of it, and a fair way beyond. We work right across the city — Clifton, Redland, Bishopston, Fishponds, Bedminster, Knowle, Brislington and everywhere in between — and out into South Gloucestershire towards Downend, Kingswood, Filton and Bradley Stoke, and west towards Long Ashton, Nailsea, Portishead and Clevedon. There are 30 areas listed on this page, and it is not an exhaustive list.
My village is not on your list — will you still come?
Almost certainly. The list covers where most of our work is, not the edge of where we will travel. Ring or send the form with your postcode and we will tell you straight away whether it is worth us coming out, and there is no charge for asking.
Do you charge extra for travel?
Not within Bristol and the towns immediately around it. For anything further out we will factor it into the quoted price and tell you up front — it will not appear afterwards as an extra line.
Is access a problem in the terraced streets?
It is the single biggest thing that changes the price, and it is why we come and look rather than quoting over the phone. In Totterdown, Cotham or Southville there may be no vehicle access to the rear at all, which means every piece of the tree is carried out through the house or along a lane by hand, and the chipper has to work from the street with a parking suspension if the road is busy. None of that makes the job impossible — it just needs to be priced honestly before it starts.
Do you work for landlords, agents and businesses?
Yes. Alongside domestic gardens we work for landlords, managing agents, schools and commercial sites across Bristol on scheduled maintenance, safety inspections and one-off clearance. We can invoice on account and provide method statements and risk assessments where a site needs them.
Tree surgeon needed in your part of Bristol?
Tell us the postcode and roughly what the tree is doing. If we cover you — and we usually do — we will come out and give you a free fixed price.
